Your Performance 8, smaller but mightier with advanced enhanced certifications and increased power output!
The Performance range, or P-series, is SunPower’s signature module range. First introduced in 2015, Performance has built an impressive track record, powering homes, businesses and large-scale solar projects, including Limondale Solar Farm in NSW (349MW) and Gemini Solar Farm, in Nevada, USA (967MW). Over the years, Performance has continued to evolve, with enhanced capabilities, certifications and proven reliability. Performance 8 continues that legacy, engineered to perform in some of the toughest conditions. With over 2.8 million Performance modules sold in Australia and New Zealand since launch, it’s performance you can choose with confidence!

SunPower Performance 8 combines one-third cut cells, shingled cell technology and a dual-glass structure to deliver greater energy generation, reliability and durability compared with traditional front-contact panels.
To further enhance durability, the cells are protected by a premium encapsulant, which provides excellent moisture resistance and weather protection. Its resistance to water and humidity helps protect the cells from environmental exposure and supports reliable energy production, particularly in harsh operating conditions.
By combining advanced cell technology with enhanced protection against environmental and operating stresses, SunPower Performance 8 is designed to optimise energy generation while supporting reliable, long-term performance, even in challenging environmental and low light conditions.

Power, Product & Service coverage for 30 years.
SunPower panels are manufactured for long-term durability, covering defects related to workmanship and materials for a full 30 years, versus some manufacturers that can go as low as 12 years on their warranty.
SunPower panels also account for the repair, replacement or refund of any defective panel for 30 years, with removal, shipping and installation included in Australia and New Zealand.
All our warranties abide by Australian Consumer Law and New Zealand Consumer Guatantees Act.

Higher power, smarter design.
Smaller footprint than previous generation but higher power output by +5%
Smaller cells create shorter electrical pathways, reducing resistance and minimising energy losses. The one-third cut cell design also improves partial-shading tolerance, reducing the impact of shading on overall panel performance while decreasing the risk of hotspot formation.
This patented cell architecture means that the cells overlap. It eliminates inactive "dead zones" between cells, capturing more light and boosting overall panel output. This translates directly to increased energy production. Unlike standard half cut panels, where shading across a single cell can significantly impact output, shingled cells minimise power loss under shaded conditions.
Performance 8 modules have a robust glass-glass construction. Their double layered glass construction enhances durability, safeguarding against environmental factors, installation stresses and ensures a longer product lifespan.
The metal wires that can be seen on Performance panels connect each overlapping shingled-cell. This forms a strong but flexible cell interconnect which helps mitigate ribbon failure and cell cracking generally caused by temperature swings or excessive movement. The wires are flattened at the cell interconnect point to form a flexible joint. This provides reliability advantages over standard panels.
Performance 8 panels can be installed as close as 50 meters from the sea. It is certified to the highest severity for salt mist (test method 8), ensuring corrosion resistance and reliable performance.
Performance 8 has gone though extensive ammonia resistance testing guaranteeing performance in agricultural and high-ammonia environments.
SunPower Performance 8 with its premium encapsulant and durable glass-glass contruction, is certified up to 45mm hail impact.
