Making a Difference, One Solar Cell at a Time

SunPower Australia Supports the Lifeline Albury Wodonga Charity with Solar Panel Donations

Making a Difference, One Solar Cell at a Time

In New South Wales, Australia, a charity has been helping their community with vital crisis support for over 40 years.

That charity is Lifetime Albury Wondonga.

And with rising energy costs, they needed help to power their local center, and to secure it for the future.

Thanks to a donation of SunPower solar panels and an energy storage battery, they were able to continue their operations with greater confidence and peace of mind.

A Solution to Rising Energy Costs

From crisis counseling to bereavement support, Lifeline Albury Wodonga really does offer a lifeline of hope during difficult moments.

Funded by two local shops and a team of trained volunteers, the charity faces a constant demand for mental health services, supporting thousands of individuals annually.

It’s confidential one-to-one support, with a trained Lifeline telephone crisis supporter always on the other end of the phone.

But one of the biggest financial problems for the charity was the ever-rising cost of electricity.

A solution was needed – fast.

High-efficiency SunPower solar panels installed on the metal rooftop of Lifeline Albury Wodonga, providing sustainable, reliable solar energy for the community center.

Partnered with experts KDEC

The Lifeline Albury Wodonga project was only possible thanks to our local partner, KDEC Electrical and Solar, and their excellent work.

Together, we were able to install 22 SunPower Shingled solar panels, a 10kW SunPower energy storage battery and a 5kW inverter, providing a complete solution.

The sun’s energy, harnessed by SunPower's panels, now fuels not just Lifeline’s office and call center, but also their ability to assist others.

What this means, is that we can deliver critical suicide prevention activities locally. We can answer more calls, and we can train more Crisis Supporters.
Stacy Read, CEO at Lifetime Albury Wodonga

By reducing the charity’s energy costs, SunPower’s solar panels free up resources for Lifeline Albury Wodonga to help even more people in need.

KDEC, a SunPower partner installer, is committed to supporting local community organizations with clean, reliable solar energy solutions.
