Are back contact solar panels better?
Not all solar systems are created equal. Of all the solar panels on the market, back contact panels convert more sunlight into electricity—generating more energy than conventional panels within the same amount of space. With back contact panels you can maximise the value of your available roof space and reduce electricity costs over time.
Are solar panels worth it?
Solar panels can be a worthwhile investment, especially in regions with abundant sunlight and favorable incentives. They offer numerous benefits, including cost savings on electricity bills, reduced environmental impact, and potential increases in property value. Solar panels typically pay for themselves over time through energy savings and potential government incentives, making them an attractive option for many homeowners and businesses interested in sustainable energy solutions and long-term financial benefits. The return on investment, however depends on factors like your energy consumption, location, available incentives, and long-term goals. That's why we recommend to conduct a thorough evaluation and consult with one of our solar professionals to determine the specific economic and environmental advantages for your situation.
Are yield advantages reflected in simulation tools such as PV Syst?
Yes, we have guidelines we can share to allow you to set PV Syst using our 3rd-party-validated PAN files. Third party validation from Dekra or SGS allow customers to have more confidence in what they are purchasing and better estimate of return on investment and LCOE (levelized cost of electricity).
Can the SunPower storage system be added to an existing solar system?
Yes. The SunPower home energy storage system is compatible with existing solar systems and can be added to your current photovoltaic installation. For maximum performance, it can also be installed together with new SunPower solar panels.
Can the SunPower storage system only be installed with SunPower solar panels?
The SunPower home energy storage system works with any photovoltaic module that meets the required voltage and current specifications. However, when all components—including your solar panels—come from one of the most trusted brands in the industry, you can be confident that the entire system will work seamlessly together. You will also benefit from a single account, one app, and a dedicated support team for the whole system.
Does Cosmetic quality affect the panel’s performance?
Every single panel is electrically tested and inspected for cosmetic criteria at the end of the production line. Regardless of the cosmetic grade, the cosmetic effects do not affect performance or reliability.
Does my installer have to be a SunPower partner?
No. If there are no SunPower Partners in your area, we will pair you with a qualified installer, or you can appoint an installer of your choice.
How are shingled TOPCon panels different from standard TOPCon panels?
Shingled technology represents an evolution in solar panel design, combining N-type TOPCon solar cells with an innovative cell design to maximize efficiency, reliability, and real-world performance. In shingled technology, TOPCon solar cells are cut into smaller 1/3 strips and electrically connected in a shingled, overlapping configuration. This design eliminates inactive gaps between cells, increasing energy production and boosting overall panel output. Shingled TOPCon provides a premium solution, offering higher performance and enhanced reliability, particularly beneficial for installations with limited roof space or complex shading challenges.
How can I become a SunPower installer?
